E-mail newsletters need a creative translation agency. For example, imagine a German newsletter from a tourist agency which talks about “fun things to do on labour day”. The agency wants its newsletter to be read by Dutch customers also and asks us to translate it into Dutch. But in the Netherlands, labour day isn’t a national holiday. At Interlex, our Dutch translator will alert you to this issue and will translate your text with his or her best solution. This is called localisation. (In this case, by choosing the 5th of May as an alternative, which is Dutch liberation day.) If you are happy with the solution, you already have your translation, no e-mailing to and fro needed!
